Bairro do Chiado

Bairro do Chiado is an authentic district of the city, marked by ancient traditions, very close to the main tourist attractions of the city, such as the Castle of São Jorge, the Cathedral, the District of Alfama and of course....... the Fado, recently considered by UNESCO as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

As you stroll through the Chiado district, you can feel the centuries of history that this part of the city has been through. The houses all have a very similar design, with high ceilings, beautiful wrought iron balconies, which allow an enigmatic look at the Tagus River.
